Your data stays on your device
QBOtoExcel converts your files entirely in your browser. Your file contents are never transmitted to our servers, so your financial data remains under your control at all times. The conversion runs locally, and the downloaded XLSX or CSV file is produced from data that never leaves your device.
What we collect
We do not collect, store, or process the contents of the files you convert. Because the conversion is client-side, we have no access to the transaction data itself. Where you allow it, we use Google Analytics to count page views and a small set of events about how the converter is used, and Microsoft Clarity to record how visitors move through the pages. Neither one receives your file's contents, its name, or your exact row count.
Data retention
We do not retain the files you convert or any derived conversion output. Since nothing is uploaded, there is nothing for us to store, archive, or delete on our side. Any temporary, non-identifying analytics data is kept only as long as needed for site operation and is not tied to your conversion activity.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for core site functionality, such as remembering your preferences or maintaining a session. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies only after you accept them, in the regions where we ask for a choice; the analytics_consent cookie then remembers that answer for 180 days, and clearing your cookies resets it. No cookie is used to track the contents of the files you convert.
Third-party services
The converter runs locally and does not send your file contents to any third party. Where we use service providers for site infrastructure or analytics, they receive only the page and interaction data described above and are bound by their own privacy obligations. The QBO converter does not upload file contents, and any transaction data you convert stays on your device.
Children's privacy
QBOtoExcel is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because we do not collect the contents of converted files or require an account to use the converter, we do not hold personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not store your conversion data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete in connection with your conversions. You can contact us at any time with questions about this policy or to exercise any rights you may have.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in how the site operates or for legal reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
